This post is inspired by Derek Sivers’ First Follower video, but does it really apply here?
My first post feels very much like how the guy dancing in that video looks—very exposed and possibly a bit silly. Except he clearly has no fear of being judged and is truly enjoying himself.
In the video, Derek talks about the importance of the first follower. And indeed he is key in getting the momentum and movement going. But we cannot forget it is the leader who must first put himself or herself out there and risk appearing a fool. The first move must happen before the first follower can turn it into a movement.
What do you feel vulnerable about making your first move on today?
